"My birthing adventure with Laura was life changing. The pre and postnatal care she provided made the entire experience more personal than what I had previously encountered with a hospital birth. I can't thank her enough for the gentle way my son began his life. Never have I felt so empowered as a woman." Carrie Andrew, mother of Eli and Reid

" How do you even begin to thank a midwife? How do you thank her for helping you through the 2 most profound and transformative experiences of your life? What thanks can express enough gratitude for her having been a friend,a counselor,an educator, and a spirit guide when you were at your most vulnerable and frightened? How do you explain the beauty of the aching vacuum she leaves behind after that stinking 6-week postpartum appointment, when your umbilical midwife cord is finally severed? Indeed, I do not know how to thank a midwife. The best I can do is to say this: I know, Laura, that you lostyour sweet daughter all those years ago. But rest assured that if your other clients feel even a fraction of what I have come to feel for you, then you are, in fact, surrounded by daughters." Kate Pettey, mother of Maeve and Lilah

Thank you for your support every step of the way - the countless resources during pregnancy, the waves of labor, the exhilaration of birth, and the bliss of parenthood.  Your wisdom and love for life have spilled over and infected us.  Our journey of going beyond ourselves and giving life to another little person leaves us breathless, wordless, and in awe.  We count you as a blessing and you will forever go with us as we continue to build on the foundation of our family." Matt and Heather, parents of Dawsen

"You have helped me so, so much during my hard pregnancy, labor, birth and now post partum.  Wow, you have done a lot!  You are one of the most amazing, smart, caring, beautiful and powerful women I have ever met!" Ida, Jason and baby Gianni

"You have devoted your heart to healthy, happy pregnancies and deliveries.  Your compassion does not go unnoticed. We would not have had our baby any other way.  You are amazing!" Alesia, Chad and Avery

"I cannot begin to find the words to describe how blessed I am to have had you help bring my 3 precious angels into this world and into my life. Laura, you helped me so much--encouragement, your words, touch and love helped me not to give up...again, thanks to you, another beautiful home birth, my precious angels-always straight to my arms and your loving face and voice of joy right by my side. You are a treasure to me..." Jacquie Reeves, wife of Craig and mother of Maddison, Makenna, Abbigail,Wesley and Natalee

"Laura,It's hard to describe just how much gratitude our family has for you, your amazing skill and way with birth. Of course I could have done it without you - you have taught me that a woman's body can give birth without help as the instinct is there; but I would not have wanted to do it without you.

I remember so clearly the first time I voiced aloud my thought that I might want to have a homebirth and the shocked reactions I got from family, friends and even my husband. Yet, the more I read, the more educated I became, the more convinced I was that a homebirth was exactly what I wanted - for my comfort and safety and the health of my baby. I loved the idea of a private, warm and familiar environment to birth and bond with my child. Once Mike heard the statistics on hospital births and understood how a homebirth works, he was also became a strong advocate. You are knowledgeable, loving, nurturing and we are so comfortable with you.

Our experience with you has given me an almost zealot-like passion to share my birth experience and the benefits and beauty of homebirth to all. It's a testament to homebirth that I, someone who 5 years ago would never have considered homebirth am such a proponent now. How experience and knowledge changes you! The honor of giving birth on my own terms and allowing me the privilege of letting my body and soul do what it knows how to do is the thing I am most proud of in all my life. I did what millions of women think they can't - I had a natural birth in the place I am most myself, my own home, with the person I adore most in the world, my husband. I wish that for all women.

Laura, you granted me that gift and you supported me through the amazing experience of pregnancy and childbirth. A homebirth requires that the mother (and father) take full responsibility to know and understand the pregnancy process and be willing to own their experience. A midwife must be able to instill the confidence, support the process, provide guidance and lead the way. You did that for us. Never once did I experience fear, doubt or regret. And it was a harder road to take the Bradley classes, to read all the books, to ask the questions, but also more rewarding. The pregnancy and birth experience is a miracle few are able to truly internalize or understand. Bella's birthday was the best day of my life - not just because I ended the day with a gorgeous, healthy baby, but because I performed an amazing feat in the way that nature intended. My husband looks at me differently, I look at myself differently - that experience changed me and gave me a full sense of my womanhood and motherhood. It made me realize just how strong and amazing my body is. Mike and I will be eternally grateful to you. Your passion to help bring life into the world in a special and meaningful way is evident in every motion you make, every word you speak. You are truly birth's champion and the shepherd for expecting mothers. I am proud to call you my midwife, my friend and my birth partner." Melissa Clymer, mother of Bella

Laura- I feel so blessed to have had you be a part of my journey into motherhood and
now having three children. You have been such an avid supporter of me, and a
wonderful teacher. I have learned so much from you about my strength as a woman and
mother, and to be proud of that.
I have also learned throughout our relationship that it is ok to trust my
instincts, not the many experts out there, and that what I sow into my children
lasts more than a lifetime.
You have helped me bring three amazing people into this world. The care you
provide is much more than vital signs and ultrasounds- it is truly CARE! I have
had three beautiful pregnancies, (even through the crummy times) and three
unforgettable, amazing deliveries. I have always felt as if you were a sister
providing support to me; kind, loving, compassionate, and supportive. Thank you
for all you do. Our whole family loves you so much; you are such a blessing to
us! Erika Chowning, mother of Barrett, Brody and Gantry

I always knew that after having my first baby in the hospital, I would never go that route again. But when John and I got pregnant, he was pretty opposed to home birth. But then, I miscarried that baby, and he was so impressed with the loving care that we received with you through that experience, that he was more willing to consider a home birth when we got pregnant again. Now, after having the opportunity to help deliver his own baby girl in the comfort of our bedroom, and to receive the devotion of midwife care, he is more than happy to share his experience with others and even tries to convince folks that he meets to try homebirth themselves. You made my husband a convert - and he's a tough mind to change! Christie Cuddihy, mother of Liam and Chloe

I cannot imagine my life without Laura Luckett. I always knew deep down that giving birth in my home was the best answer for me. But for my husband and family, there needed to be a lot more convincing. My Husband fell in love with the intense in-depth prenatal appointments. He was able to understand and participate in the process because of Laura's support, patience and sense of humor. I felt the love and acceptance of a soul mate in my life that I needed during my journey into motherhood. I felt safe and secure with her care, medical competence and her love. The relationship with your mid-wife is unlike any other you will ever experience. For 10 months she becomes your best friend, mother, sister and doctor all rolled into one. I will always treasure my time spent with Laura, she is a true gift. Tracy Ardrey, mother of Hunter and Tanner

Laura is absolutely fantastic! She delivered both our daughter and son, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. She was available whenever I needed her (unlike most doctors you’ll find) and she was great at providing me the encouragement that I needed throughout the entire pregnancy and births. Her energy is amazing!
Thank you so much Laura!
Kim Cagan, mother of Allie and Drew
